About the Festival

The Malaysia International Gastronomy Festival (MIGF 2016)

Times flies and it is now a full year since last year's Malaysia International Gourmet Festival.

After 15 years of the Festival, we have had time to reflect. We believe that our name needs to describe the evolution of the Malaysian dining scene to the vibrant one we see today with new restaurants of all types of cuisines making their presence felt.

For this reason ‘gourmet’ gives way to the more encompassing ‘gastronomy’ and MIGF now becomes the Malaysia International Gastronomy Festival.

High Octance Chefs!

The 2016 edition of the Malaysia International Gastronomy Festival promises to deliver like previous years—and as the theme suggests, this year’s month-long event is epic!

Food connoisseurs would want to be there to witness—and feast—as the top chefs in the country whip up sumptuous masterpieces in their respective restaurants that rank among the best in Malaysia.

The Festival Menus themselves are like gems waiting to be discovered; diners can expect the most creative and innovative menus as the chefs attempt to outdo one another in friendly rivalry. The best part is, diners can also expect value for money for the specially crafted dishes during the Festival.

Among the cuisines on offer during MIGF 2016 are: Italian, Contemporary Italian, French, Modern French, Continental, European, Modern European, Western Classic, Western, International, Asian, Pan Asian, Thai, Chinese, Cantonese, Japanese, Sri Lankan, Peranakan and more.

Taste MIGF

The Spectacular Preview Event of MIGF 2016, Taste MIGF, will give food lovers from the general public a taste of what is to come during the Festival month. Taste MIGF will be held at Berjaya Times Square Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, from 11am to 10pm on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th September. The gastronomic weekend is not to be missed with food, entertainment, cooking classes, lifestyle workshops and plenty of fun!

Food lovers are invited to indulge in a 'Super Gourmet Safari' as the Festival Restaurants gather in the specially created 'Theatre of Cuisines' to serve up tasting portions from their Festival Menus.

The portions are big enough to exhibit the creativity of the Festival Chefs but small enough to allow you to taste as many dishes from as many restaurants as possible. All you need are Gastro Dollars that can be purchased at the venue or online in advance to sample these delicious creations.

There will also be an Epicure International Gourmet Village where premium food and beverage products from around the world await. Don’t miss the chance to purchase some of the finest gourmet products—including wines, cheeses and gourmet chocolates—at great promotional prices.
