Palatial and Pleasant

The imposing red doors of Shang Palace almost seem to fend off would-be trespassers but if you’ve arrived in the name of gastronomy, you’ll be welcomed to step through the threshold and, as the doors close behind you, you’ll feel as if you’ve travelled back in time to ancient China. A stately corridor fit for a king leads you into the regal dining room, awash with warm corals and prosperous ambers.

And yet, wooden accents throughout give the space a grounded feel too. Floral-shaped tableware feed off the fresh chrysanthemum flower placed in the centre of each table while a wall-to-wall window which overlooks Westin KL’s poolside garden, makes you feel like it’s your very own palace garden. This all-round inviting atmosphere makes Shang Palace ideal for a family banquet but eight private rooms are also available to be used.

Offering only the best in Cantonese cuisine, Chef Kim Weng’s specially designed festival menu showcases traditional dishes in a modern way. They are served individually with colourful adornments so you can eat slowly and savour every morsel.
